The rumor Facebook will buy BlackBerry faster and faster. This after the BlackBerry manufacturer, Research in Motion (RIM) is reportedly going to divide the company into two business divisions. Namely are messaging division and handset division.
According to media reports Sunday Times, quoting sources involved, the handset division will likely be sold to third parties. Well, Facebook is reported to be potential buyers, along with Amazon online store.
Facebook is rumored to want to make your own handset. So it makes sense if they are considering the acquisition of RIM’s handset division.
Sales of the handset division will make the RIM BlackBerry focusing on messaging services Messenger and BlackBerry Internet Services. Messaging business will likely be licensed to other companies to reap revenues.
Some time ago, RIM had indeed been hired JP Morgan and RBC Capital to analyze various strategic options including the possible sale.
