The news was apparently reached the ears of RIM. This Canadian company immediately denied any intention to ignore the fuel service.
“Research in Motion (RIM) remains focused and committed to the BlackBerry Messenger and excited to bring new features,” said a spokesman for RIM. Only, the spokesman did not say whether that meant the new features.
It is however, fuel is still the mainstay of BlackBerry service. Although not exactly revolutionary, RIM includes special keys such as the fuel in its new smartphone Curve 9220 and 9320.
As quoted from the Wall Street Journal, Friday (25/05/2012), there are more than 55 million current users of fuel, increased 10-fold compared to the data in 2009. However, there are reportedly declining trend in the number of users because RIM’s market share is declining.
