If you don’t believe that math can be fun too sometimes, then you have to get your hands on Quento, an app universally developed for both iPhone and iPad. This little puzzler uses some basic arithmetic calculation to thrills and challenges the players. Overall, its gameplay is simple with you having to make up a calculation from the provided numbers and operations to get the expected result. Furthermore, you have to use only the maximum amount of numbers asked and perform the calculation in one single swipe.
Sounds interesting, right? As soon as you start the game, you’ll see nine square tiles labeled by both the number and the operation. In Quento, the operations are limited to addition and subtraction only. Depending on your math skill, this can be an advantage or disadvantage. All the goals are described above the puzzles. You’ll be awarded by some stars if you manage to accomplish a particular objective. Every here and there, you’ll be led to a Free Play mode. Unlike the original game mode, you are simply asked to get the goal without bothering about number restrictions.
Quento can be downloaded for free in the app market but that will give you only two goals in every round. If you just start, it may be helpful but as soon as you get used to it, it’ll become a little bit dragging. That’s when you should upgrade to he paid version which costs $0.99. The pro version allows you to complete more challenging goals in each round. Overall, it’s a fun app to play with. However, it doesn’t seem to render properly on iPad.
